Mike Haas, outgoing President of the AOCS, said, “Springer will bring
outstanding global visibility to AOCS journals through its online
presence and significant sales and marketing muscle.”
AOCS Publications Steering Committee Chairman Robert Moreau added,
“Through its extensive infrastructure, Springer addresses all
priorities identified by our committee to propel AOCS journals into
the 21st century publishing arena. We felt Springer, based on its
strengths in service, capability, and cost efficiency, was the best
choice.”
“We welcome AOCS journals to the Springer chemistry and materials
publishing program. I anticipate a long and fruitful relationship,”
said Springer Editorial Director Ken Derham. “We are proud to partner
with this nearly 100-year-old society and will strive to help them
support their mission.”
Springer will publish all three journals in both print and electronic
forms. They will be available via SpringerLink, Springer’s online
information platform, and will include Online First™, a feature where
articles are published online before they appear in print. In addition,
it will offer all authors, via the Springer Open Choice program, the
option of publishing their articles using the open access publishing
model.
